of DIYs

I have a thing for DIYs, who's not?
The only issue I have is the lack of time or should I say, I still need to work on my time management ;)

I like how Simone Heng made herLavender Oatmeal Scrub

How Alessa made her watercolored Phone Case

Tonia's Mozzarella Sticks are the bomb!

And speaking of DIY and food ;) my friend Carla had the brilliant idea of celebrating her daughter's 3rd birthday a DIY Pajama Party.
So, the night before the event, I took advantage and volunteered to help them decorate the place, all from scratch!

And for some reasons Carla thought to give me the responsibility to dress up the birthday table.
So, those round thinggy by the curtain was by yours truly. Caren, one of our friends too was the one assigned for the balloons. The birthday banner was made my the mommy herself, Carla. Oh! and those cute milk bottles with mini donuts were her idea and made by her too :)

These oatmeal cookies were the ones I baked for the party, the kids say they're yummy!

The kids even had their time to DIY

They hand painted pillow cases for their take-away mini-pillows. This activity was one of the highlights of the party, if clubs have disco lights- this' gonna be it! Not only did the kids enjoy this part, the mommies did also! And yes, that includes me ;)

It's a fun-filled Pajama Party! As my daughter Chin would put it, "best pajama party evuuuuurrrrrr!!!"

I may already be late in joining the bandwagon, but hey! it still is fun, you should try it

What happens when a C bounced?

This morning as we were heading for my son's scheduled vaccination, the hubby then suddenly remembered what we should have done before the weekend. That is- to deposit our payment for the house rent. He suddenly made this urgent (as if life depends on it!) U-turn to go back. And of all the perfect timing- this has been the day I did not even charge my mobile to call and check with the bank! I felt my lower back became painful- I guessed it could be the stressed from what came into realization like a whirlwind. Alas! When I gotten the chance to charge my Mobile, the bank had an sms from yesterday informing me of my insufficient fund for the issued cheque. So we called the Developer/Owner of where we are living and made the arrangements.
Why am I sharing this to you, you may ask?
Actually what I really want to share was- how I was able to relate on the occurrence of the problem. Though I felt stressed in the beginning, the second actions and feelings that transpired was beyond me! I am not how I was before! I did not condemn my husband, I did not become angry, ok! not too angry at him, I was a bit angry when he asked me to call the bank, because, well I guessed you know, my mobile died on me, haha! (read:lazy to charge). Then I felt calmness and peace. As if Someone's telling me, "this too shall pass". I know it was God. He assured me that everything will be alright, and it did! Though we payed the penalty (which is by the way, not in the budget! of course) we came to realize the importance of being responsible of God's 10%. If in that we're not able to do well, how can we manage the rest of the 90%? I thank HIM for reminding us of this. I thank Him all the more for changing me and the hubby. How we regard each other in the midst of problems like this before was so much different from how we are now. Sure, we still have our misses, but I would much want to emphasize and focus on our hits, because I'm certain we have come a long way :)

What's keeping us busy?

When I was in HS, I learned calligraphy and typography. Only, I was able to learn one form of calligraphy which is the Gothic.
As of late, I'm trying my hand on modern calligraphy, which by the way is not easy. They say constant practice would make it perfect, but I believe I need some workshop to attend to if I want to be serious with this craft. I hope when I go for vacation I would be able to squeeze in a workshop.

Here's btw is one greeting I made for my sister in law.

I used Faber Castell Water colors and Daler-Rowney Calligraphy pen.

Weekend bakes

This one's a late post. But I'll write about it anyway ;)
I took again the courage to bake some crinkles, my first few tries were blah!
But on this try, finally! I think I was able to hit bulls eye.

I tried this recipe --> betty crocker

The secret really is in the timing. If you are opting for that gooey inside taste, limit your oven exposure ;)

I took some for my friend who just gave birth.

and yes I got their thumbs up!

Have a fruitful week lovelies!
